SULLIGENT- A single-vehicle crash at 8:15 a.m. today, Jan. 24, has claimed the life of a Detroit woman. Mary Myers Gilmer, 76, was killed when the 2003 Kia Spectra she was driving left the roadway and struck a ditch. Gilmer, who was not using a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The crash occurred on Alabama 17 two miles north of Sulligent. Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
