Sheffield woman arrested for allegedly selling drugs

SHEFFIELD-Authorities have arrested a Sheffield woman for distributing a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.

According to police, Jo Ann Misso Young, 56, Hillcrest Avenue, Sheffield, is accused of selling the pain pill, Oxymorphone or Opana, as it is more popularly known, to an undercover police informant.

The case was made by the Colbert County Drug Task Force.

Documents obtained from the courthouse state, “Young did unlawfully sell, furnish, or distribute a controlled substance, oxymorphone, within three miles of a school, college, or university.” and “did unlawfully possess oxymorphone, a controlled substance in May of 2016,”

Young was released from the Colbert County Jail on a $5,000 bond.

The case is set for arraignment on November 1st at 9 am in Judge Hal Hughston’s courtroom.
